Verdi Productions and The Woodhaven Production Company have entered into an agreement with Universal Pictures to distribute its two Rhode Island-made films, "Infected" and "Self Storage," through Universal's Video on Demand platform. Each of the films will be accessible to more than 100 million homes, starting May 7 with "Infected," followed by "Self Storage" on July 2.
Chad A. Verdi, the Rhode Island producer, said the deal is "truly a filmmaker's dream come true."
"Infected" is a horror/zombie thriller set in the New England woods, where an absentee father and his son fight for survival after their hunting group becomes infected with a virus that originated from a rabid deer they killed and consumed.
"Self Storage," written by Rhode Island actor, writer and producer Tom DeNucci, is about a night watchman at a highly secured self-storage facility who invites his college pals to party at the place where they unwittingly stumble upon a heinous covert black-market operation.
